Entre mascotas y maletas: La relación entre los perros, el vínculo familiar y la elección de alojamiento en los viajes

Resumen

Las mascotas cada vez más se posicionan como un elemento esencial en nuestras vidas, tanto es así que forman parte de la unidad familiar. En esta investigación se ha analizado la relación entre las motivaciones y obstáculos para viajar con mascotas, el grado de apego familiar a las mismas, y la elección del alojamiento turístico. La metodología se centralizó en una encuesta a propietarios de perros que viajan con ellos habitualmente, incluyéndose un diseño de encuesta fundamentado en la literatura previa, un estudio piloto y la recolección de datos a través de una encuesta. Sobre esta base de datos se realizaron diferentes análisis estadísticos, así como modelos de ecuaciones estructurales para extraer las diferentes conclusiones. Los resultados destacan la importancia del apego familiar a las mascotas en la elección del alojamiento turístico y sugieren la necesidad de adaptar destinos y establecimientos a las necesidades de este nuevo segmento de mercado. Se concluye que comprender las motivaciones y obstáculos para viajar con mascotas es crucial para diseñar políticas turísticas adecuadas.
