Resumen

This paper seeks to establish whether the European branding of tradition, PDO- Protected Designation of Origin have an influence or no in buying a certain product in crowded places, our products are Port Wine and Serra da Estrela, and the location is Lisbon, Portugal.

The PDO can be trusted as a brand in order make the tourist experience more authentic and unique?

To prove this, a questionnaire was carried in June- July 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal. 2 target groups were used, European and non-European tourists. By making this division we can compare the knowledge of public about a certain way of branding. As well one interview was carried to an accommodation facilities manager that sells Port Wine.
