The present study explores thermal tourism destination competitiveness from the stakeholder viewpoint, with the purpose of offering guidelines to decision makers to make their decisions in line with a sustainable perspective. Using qualitative research, data were collected through semistructured interviews and from secondary sources. The empirical framework is set on the city of Ourense, an outstanding reference of thermal tourism in Spain.

The results show that thermal destination competitiveness is a complex three-dimensional concept due to the existence of interactions between its determining factors. They emphasize that the design of strategies to improve the competitiveness of thermal destinations must consider not only the greater or lesser importance of the determinants of competitiveness but also the interactions between them, as well as their heterogeneous influence on each dimension of thermal destination competitiveness. Moreover, the destinations' characteristics and position within the tourism area life cycle condition the relevance of the factors.
Lidia Blanco-Cerradelo M. Nevertheless, little progress has been done with regard to Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) countries. This paper aims to approach this problem. Furthermore, the analysis is differentiated according to the kind of destination. To do so, a specialization index is introduced indicating whether a country is specialized in tourism or not. The study is based on a panel data of 32 countries in LAC for the 1995-2019 period. Results show that there is a strong direct effect of the number of World Heritage Sites on international tourist demand and, that this relationship is much stronger for those countries that are tourism specialized. However, when differentiating between tangible and intangible heritages, tangible ones have an important significant effect on international tourist demand in not tourism specialized countries, but intangible elements not so much. Conversely, cultural intangible heritage is only significant for tourism specialized countries.
Marina Tortul Silvina Elías Viviana Leonardi Derechos de autor 2022 Marina Tortul, Silvina Elías, Viviana Leonardi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2022-05-22 2022-05-22 29 1 10.53596/jta.v29i1.393 Tea tourism and rural revitalization: insights and evidence from Zhejiang, China https://analisis-turistico.aecit.org/index.php/AECIT/article/view/401
A Rural revitalization has been paid great attention in China as a result of rapid socio-economic development, and officially established as a national strategy in recent years. The study aims to identify the potential of tea tourism, as a specific form of rural gastronomic tourism, could contribute to regional revitalization, on the strength of rich tea resources and authentic tea culture in China. From an actor-oriented perspective, the comparative case study in Zhejiang province shows that, the actual tea tourism practice in case areas is shaped by environmental and personal factors. Meanwhile, the potential of tea resources hasn’t been fully integrated in tourism activities, as practitioners’ operating capability restricted by conceptual issues and other self-limitations. Despite, the evolution of tea tourism becomes a channel to facilitate residents’ livelihood and life quality, turning the situation of rural residents’ outflow to inflow, achieved various aspects of rural revitalization. A comparison between machine learning and classical segmentation techniques https://analisis-turistico.aecit.org/index.php/AECIT/article/view/403
Pere Josep Pons Vives Mateu Morro Ribot Carles Mulet Forteza Óscar Valero Derechos de autor 2022 Pere Josep Pons Vives, Mateu Morro Ribot, Carles Mulet Forteza, Óscar Valero https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2022-05-22 2022-05-22 29 1 10.53596/jta.v29i1.403 Determining factors influencing use of caravanning tourism apps https://analisis-turistico.aecit.org/index.php/AECIT/article/view/399
Purpose: This study sought to identify the factors that affect intention to use applications (apps) related to caravanning and to test a conceptual model based on the literature to assess the intention to use apps to plan a trip in a caravanning sector.

Design/methodology/approach: This study analysed the data obtained from caravanning users using partial least squares (PLS). The model used in this paper is based on a review of the literature.

Findings: This study showed that perceived value, perceived ease of use and satisfaction had an influence on intention to use apps related to caravanning. The key predictors of satisfaction were hedonic motivation and perceived ease of use.

Research limitations/implications: The results are based on users of motorhomes, caravans and campers who have visited Andalusia as caravanning users. The study should be expand to more regions and countries to determine if such expanded samples would field different results and conclusions. Furthermore, there is a lack of studies of caravanning in the literature.

Practical implications: This study could be useful for app developers because of the lack of studies in this specific sector in order to develop marketing strategies.

It would also be convenient for them to have a knowledge of the effect of moderating variables such as gender, marital status and age on the intention to use caravanning apps to develop their strategies in apps.

Originality/value: This is a pioneering study in the field of caravanning and apps. It also offers practical implications for app developers. It is the first paper to use a model based on the literature to test the intention to use apps related to caravanning.
Rocio Hernández Garrido María Asunción Grávalos Gastaminza Tomás Escobar Rodríguez Cinta Pérez Calañas Derechos de autor 2022 Rocio Hernández Garrido, Asunción Grávalos-Gastaminza, Tomás Escobar-Rodríguez, Cinta Pérez-Calañas https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2022-05-22 2022-05-22 29 1 10.53596/jta.v29i1.399
