Innovación en los ecosistemas de distribución turística: el papel de los intermediaries y nuevos agentes

Resumen

La distribución turística se enfrenta a nuevos retos caracterizados por la aceleración de los ciclos de innovación, la transformación digital y unos conocimientos técnicos cada vez más profundos, que ofrecen a las organizaciones nuevas oportunidades para ampliar sus capacidades y ser más competitivas. Nuestro objetivo es lograr una síntesis exhaustiva y actualizada de los enfoques actuales de investigación sobre la innovación en los ecosistemas de distribución turística y ofrecer propuestas para futuras investigaciones. Se trata de una de las primeras revisiones temáticas que se centran en cómo el ecosistema de distribución turística puede entenderse de forma integral mediante la aplicación del marco de las 6C. El estudio revisa 53 artículos seleccionados obtenidos de las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science, entre enero de 2001 y agosto de 2023. En los ecosistemas empresariales, los avances en las TIC han desencadenado innovaciones radicales en la distribución turística con la aparición de actores con nuevos modelos de negocio. Así, los agentes tradicionales deben innovar para seguir siendo competitivos. Los nuevos actores digitales lideran la innovación de productos, mientras que los intermediarios tradicionales se basan más en la innovación de procesos. La innovación organizativa se ha revelado necesaria para ambos.

  • Asuncion Fernández-Villarán Ara, Universidad de Deusto

    She is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Deusto (Spain). She holds a PhD in Economic and Business Sciences, a Master in Advanced Management from UD and a Master in Marketing and Tourism from UNED. She is coordinator of Tourism Degree. She has been the Director of the UD Department of Tourism for 9 years. She was the Principal Investigator of the Tourism research team. She is a member of the Leisure , Culture and tourism for social transformation research team, recognized by the Basque Government with the A category. Her research focuses on business management, tourism intermediation, innovation in tourism and tourism for all, always seeking to improve the quality of life and management. 

  • Macarena Cuenca Amigo, Universidad de Deusto

    Macarena Cuenca is a member of the Management Department and lectures on on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration at the University of Deusto in Bilbao. She has been visiting lecturer at Aston Business School and at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. She also lectures on several Master’s degree programmes such as European and International Business Management at Deusto Business School where she teaches Organisation Design and on the Master’s degree in Human Resources, giving the subject Organisational Structure. She has also been visiting lecturer on the Master’s degree programme in Cultural Management at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (Tallin, Estonia). She is a member of the Leisure , Culture and tourism for social transformation research team where she takes part in several Spanish and European projects. Her focus area is cultural audience development, which was the subject of her dissertation, defended in 2012. She has also written numerous articles on this subject. Within this specialist area, her participation in the ADESTE project and the Engage Audiences `project is outstanding, both of which are funded by the European Commission. She lectures on this specialist field in the PhD degree programme Leisure, Culture and Communication for Human Development and has supervised several PhD theses. She has also sat in doctoral examination boards at different Spanish universities. She works as a reviewer with several journals and as a member of scientific committees at congresses on a regular basis. Prof. Cuenca has given papers at numerous congresses and is the author of articles published in indexed specialist journals such as the following: Academia. Revista Latinoamericana de Administracion, Annals of Leisure Research, ARBOR. Ciencia, pensamiento y cultura, Cuadernos de gestión, International Review of Social Research or Revista de psicología del deporte, among others.
