Abstract

Indigenous knowledge (IK) is vital for sustainable agricultural practices, especially in agro-tourism development. Unlike previous research, which primarily focuses on agricultural sustainability, this study explores how IK influences tourist satisfaction, participation, and the overall tourism experience. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the research analyzes how IK impacts tourist attraction through mediators like infrastructure, products and services, and perceived value. Findings reveal that indigenous practices not only enhance agricultural productivity but also provide authentic, sustainable experiences that attract tourists and promote rural development. By integrating IK with modern tourism strategies, the study emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural heritage while driving economic growth. The research offers actionable insights for policymakers and tourism stakeholders, advocating for the promotion and protection of indigenous knowledge as a means of fostering sustainable rural development through agro-tourism.
