Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of anime and gastronomic-based TV series as tools in Gastrodiplomacy. Gastronomy is an intangible element that is deeply linked with a country's culture due to its ability to evoke emotions, making it a crucial aspect of gastronomic tourism. This form of tourism can be promoted through the transmission of gastronomy in programs and series, which is a part of content tourism that includes film tourism. Due to its unique features, such content has the ability to generate a positive image of a city or country and create a Soft Power image, making it a useful strategy in Gastrodiplomacy. Therefore, an analysis was conducted on Japanese anime and series that are streamed on online platforms. A qualitative methodology has been used, through a compilation of comments and interviews was carried out, which were countered with different studies reviewed during the bibliographic review stage.
